It incorporates the unique starwheel, allowing the unit to pass over cable supports without the need to detach. It also includes an anti-inversion mechanism so the device cannot be connected to the cable upside down.

The Latchways R20 Personal Rescue Device (PRD) is a self rescue harness that includes a built-in controlled descent device. The lightweight, unobtrusive rescue device is contained in a small backpack attached to a full body harness and is designed to be used with an anchor point. It provides a fallen worker with an OSHA compliant harness as well as the ability to lower themselves up to 65 feet to a safe location below. Meets ANSI A359.1. Quick connect buckle leg and chest straps for ease of use. The PRD weighs less than 8 lbs. The system has a small profile so it won't get in the way when you are in tight quarters.
